Why do you want to work for this company?

I find that above all my research about the company helps me to stand out among the other candidates.

I usually start by saying that I wasn't actually looking for a new job (shows stability) but that I was excited by the opportunity when I saw their advert. I explain that I've always wanted the opportunity to work with a company that has such an excellent reputation as their's especially one that leads the industry in service and the quality of its products (you must find out what they are...).


I also explain how my qualifications and goals complement the company's mission, vision and values (get this from their website). If I am applying for a position in the organization for which I already work, I explain how I'll be able to apply and expand on the knowledge and experience I've gained from my current position, and will be able to increase my contributions and value to the company through my new responsibilities.
