You don't need a degree but you do need a long time of work experience, it would depend it what areas you wanted to be a regional/sales manager in?
I previously have been a sales manager in a call centre and 20 years work experience was the only qualification I needed. The area I now work in as a marketing executive did not need qualifications and my regional managers have not school qualifications only 30 years work experience in specific areas and on the job training.
To get these jobs you start at the bottom of a retail store, Tesco, and work your way up over the years? - I suggest you find a better career choice where you can get a good education and university degrees and forget about retail and sales work.
If I could go back in time it wouldn't be my choice, I do have qualifications in finance and sales which I gathered over the years.
