Recruitment Agency Cover Letter - 2 Examples To Help You

Cover Letters Help For Your Career Change

A Recruitment Agency Cover Letter is every bit as important as a job application letter sent directly to a prospective employer. You cannot cut corners just because the recruitment agency is dealing with lots of job application letters day in and day out. Ultimately the agent or recruitment consultant will be making a decision about whether your name gets on to the shortlist - and don't think that they will be any less critical because their commission depends upon them putting forward only the best candidates. These two examples should help you.

Incidentally, a lot of people say things like: "the recruitment agency will find me a job..." so I must dispel that myth right now.

The recruitment consultants or agency is paid by the hiring organization to find the right people for them; therefore they find people for jobs... they DO NOT find jobs for people.

So your Recruitment Agency Cover Letter must be as well thought out as any other cover letter you might write when replying to an advertised job vacancy they are handling and I've given you one example of such a letter on this page.

In addition you might also write a Recruitment Agency Cover Letter on an exploratory basis to find out if they are handling any job that suits your skills, and if they see a well written letter plus a strong CV, they may retain your details on file. How to be sure your CV is the best it can be.

Therefore I've also added an example of a letter that you could send to ask for the recruitment agency's assistance and for their consideration if anything suitable comes onto their books.

So when you prepare your recruitment agency cover letter, you must treat is an an important part of your approach to the recruitment consultancy and use as much care as if it was going directly to the employer.

Having been a professional recruiter and headhunter myself, I can also tell you that the rule about creating a good first impression also counts here. Send in a sloppy cover letter, whether for a specifically advertised position or otherwise and you may find you never get considered again.
