Project Manager Job Description (Brief)
A PM's job is predominantly about planning, executing and finalising projects in accordance with deadlines and within the agreed budget. Primarily this means acquiring necessary resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors, on- or offshore and consultants in order to deliver the projects according to plan.
The Project Manager also defines the project’s objectives and oversees quality control throughout its life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage the project development from beginning to end and define the project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion and liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and submit budget proposals..
- Determine and assess the need for specific staff or consultants and make the appropriate requisitions if necessary during the project cycle.
- Set and manage the project expectations on an ongoing basis with team members and other stakeholders.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriately qualified team members.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Identify and manage the project dependencies and critical path.
- Plan and schedule project time-lines and milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
