Make Your Own Website To Suit Your Business Needs

You can make your own website very easily and there is a wide choice of systems and tools to help you. The choice you make will depend upon the reasons why you want to make your own website and how much you can afford to pay. I made my own choice with the website you are looking at right now.

If you are considering your career change and possibly owning a business, then your choice will be different from if you merely want to post information to share online with say, other members of your local sports club.

Of the many ways to make a website, some are free, some are easy and some are both free and easy which is why so many people choose to use Blogger.com or Squidoo or use a Wordpress blogging system.

But because they are free and easy to use, it doesn't mean they are suitable for the online presence of your new business.

In my mind, when you come to make your own website for any business, you need to take it seriously and be prepared to invest a little money at the outset to get a scalable, business oriented website that has all the tools and systems built in to guide you to a successful website. When you make your own website that has success built in from the start, you leave yourself more time to attend to the business rather than spending time trying to make your website work.

Ways To Make Your Own Website

I am speaking from genuine personal experience here, as I have used many different systems: some free, some easy, some not so easy as you can see if you look at these sites of mine.

• Career Designer Blog on Blogger.com which is free and easy;



• Business Choices Lens on Squidoo.com, also free and easy;



• Career Counseling which is a self-hosted WordPress site;



• CCL Webservices which is also a self-hosted WordPress site.

All of these are fine as a way to make your own website, but they really only serve as ways of me developing some of my ideas and providing a link back to my business site. HINT: the one you are reading now!

The exception to that is CCL Webservices which is another issue altogether. I created this site to provide web-building service to help you make your own website when you haven't the time or inclination to do it yourself.

What works really well for my clients is when they only need a small site with up to 10 pages, where they can direct interested people to find some more information and be a point of contact for their business, but without the trouble or need for a full-blown website like this one. I can get you online for less than £200.00 which includes your first years hosting; although your domain name will cost extra, it is typically only about £10.00 or so.

These sites look good, but if you think you can get away with one of these as the foundation for your business, you will find that you spend more time and money on trying to promote them, drive traffic to them or on buying additional bits of software to make them function as you would like.
