Legal jobs are available for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the legal profession with or without actually being a lawyer. If you are looking for a way to get a foot in the door of the legal field, becoming a paralegal may be your ideal choice. Most people have heard of the term "paralegal" or "legal assistant", but are unsure as to the exact details of what a paralegal does.

A paralegal or a legal assistant is a person who is employed by a law office, corporation, individual, or government agency, who performs legal work for which a lawyer is usually responsible. A paralegal has many legal responsibilities and legal jobs, but cannot actually legally give out legal advice, whereas a lawyer is a professional person authorized to practice law; someone who conducts lawsuits or gives legal advice.

A solicitor is a lawyer in England and Wales who advises a client and prepares a case. While a solicitor may have rights of audience in courts, for most legal jobs, a client will most often be represented in court by a barrister.

A barrister is a member of the older branch of the two established professions in England and Wales. A qualified barrister automatically gains full rights of audience in the higher courts. All barristers belong to one of the four Inns of Court who are responsible for their admission and discipline.

Jobs in the legal industry

Wherever in the world, there will always be some sort of rules and regulations. Since UK joined the European Economic Community (ECC) in 1973, the UK legal system has seen a huge wave of new rules and regulations needing to be incorporated each year.

The legal sector is an ever increasing and expanding industry, any new case which the current law can find no answer, a new law will be established as well as new laws created for the better good.

Working within the sector have never been better; unfortunately for some, the legal sector can be a very competitive environment, so much so, that the jobs within these sectors are little to come by, mainly because many people stay in their role to gain more experience and build up their reputation. However, when the jobs are advertised, there are very little experienced candidates applying for these roles as most would approach the employers directly rather than applying through recruitment sites.

The law is a very powerful entity; working within this sector can be very challenging and stressful environment to be in. Although, it can be a stressful environment which involves a lot of reading, knowledge and experience, it is also a sector where a majority of the roles are very well paid. One major benefit of working within the legal sector besides the salary would be, being able to know what people's rights are and how to use them to their advantage. as well as being able to sort out most of the legal paperwork etc themselves, saving them lots of money on legal fees.

If wanting to become a solicitor, the high salaries don't come easy, it is mainly gained through lots of studies, exams, hard work, excellent knowledge, skills and experiences. Even finding training within this industry can be difficult because there are not that many trainee roles available as much as experienced ones. The best would always be to apply directly to the solicitor firms and work any legal jobs for the time being until the position is found.

There are also legal secretary, admin and other office roles available as well. The salaries will vary depending on the company, location and the level of experience, but it is always an option. At least if working within this sector, legal advice can be provided for a very discounted rate or even be free, as well as legal fees reduced, so it is a win-win situation.

Whichever jobs are chosen within the legal sector, it is job that is not for the simple-minded, lots of motivation and hard work would required from the individual as well as skills, knowledge and experience. It is a very important sector and also one that has constant changes, so before deciding to work in this industry, make sure enough research has gone into it first. bristol jobs

So, legal jobs are in demand and the term lawyer is a colloquial name for a person who practises in law. It is often used as short-hand for either a solicitor or barrister although as it has no legal definition it could legitimately be used to describe a legal executive, paralegal or conceivably an academic.
