How you introduce yourself to your interviewer who may be the hiring manager for the job and your prospective employer, is absolutely crucial.
You must work on your self-introduction once you have been invited to an interview so that you are ready to talk convincingly about yourself.
You must get also be ready to create the image of someone they will definitely want to hire above all other job applicants. This page will help you work out what to say about yourself to win the job offer.
Use the self-introduction form below to write out the words you will use to introduce yourself and get some feedback from me and other visitors to your-career-change.com.
Self introduction is your key to interview success because you are starting from a baseline position where they have no experience of who you are or what you are like. Yes, they should have read your resume and cover letter you sent in, but that only gave them enough for them to want to see you in person. Now you are going to meet the hiring manager in person, you have a one-off make or break opportunity to get them to see you as the only person they want to employ.
In an interview, the words may vary of course but "Tell me about yourself" is a request to start talking and get the interview under way. It is at this point that PANIC sets in. What do they want to hear? Where do I start? How long have you got? Being able to introduce yourself effectively will set you at ease and the job interview will go much better. Understanding your Key Strengths and being able to talk comfortably and convincingly about what makes YOU the ideal candidate to hire is one of the most important self describing skills you must master because it also enables you to answer the job interview questions applicants commonly have to answer. Being able to describe yourself and your skills is crucial.
One of your main challenges will be to determine precisely what key qualities and specific personal attributes the interviewer is looking for and demonstrate your own personal attributes as specific work strengths. When you introduce yourself, you must keep this is mind and include relevant facts in your self description.
Written Communication
For some advertised jobs, you need to know about filling in a
job application form. You may be asked to contact the employer to get a copy of the application form in the first instance, but if you need to fill in an application form to apply for the job, these are the main things to think about. Get this right and the rest is easy.
You also introduce yourself on paper, or electronically, when you write your CV or resume, or when you send cover letters, for example, meaning your written communication skill is also vitally important. So, unless you're absolutely confident in your own ability, what you need is a new CV written for you, by me. My Professional CV Writing Services will give you the edge with a carefully crafted interview-winning CV created from your own document whatever state it's in now!
I will make you stand out from the pack by giving your existing CV a more professional presentation - regardless of your job or career objectives.
You'll be glad you asked me to write your new CV for you, especially when the calls for interview start coming thick and fast. Find out more at my CV Writing Services page. (You get a free cover letter included with every CV order.)
Self Introduction
Please
introduce yourself if you're new to this site; I would be delighted to know a little bit more about you, what job you do, what stage of your career you are, so that I can help you and others make more progress in their career change or with finding a new job.
Try to give a detailed self-description; about your career to date, your successes and what jobs you enjoy most. Please also read this page Describe Your Personality which will help you with your self description, to make it more interesting so that other visitors will give you some feedback. In an interview you need to talk about yourself for a couple of minutes, so try to write something describing yourself, you background and your best skills that would take 2 or 3 minutes to say out loud.
Use the form below and you will also get some feedback from my other visitors.
I will also do my best to reply to your response so please be detailed about your situation :)
Please introduce yourself and let me know where you're at in your career or your current job search. Have you just started looking for a new job or is it some time now?
- What sort of job do you normally do and are you looking for something similar or do you want to do something different?
- Were you downsized or made redundant because of the economy or did you decide to make a move yourself?
- Would you please say what concerns you most about finding a new job; what are your major issues at this stage in your career?
- What specific challenges do you see in front of you? How does your age affect any of this?
- What do you hope to get from changing your job, is it purely about earning an income or is there a greater need for intellectual stimulation?
Please let me know how I could help you more, I will do my best to respond within a couple of days, but if you have a question, you will probably find the answer already on this website - use the search box on any page for a quick result.
Your introduction story will eventually appear on a Web page exactly the way you enter it here, so please take care with any personal details.
