CV Question

I have had 2 years off work due to 2 consecutive pregnancies after finishing my maternity leave. I am currently doing my CV but dont know how to word or where i should add this information.

Also I would like to know weather this will affect my chances of getting a good job.

many thanks

Returning to work after maternity leave can be quite difficult, especially if your job has changed due to legislation, technology or new ways of doing things in the meantime.

However, the fact that you have had two pregnancies should not in itself stop you from getting a good job, so long as you have a set of relevant skills that can be applied.

What any prospective employer wants to know is whether you can do the job and be reliable, so that is what you must demonstrate to the employer initially through your CV. Take care to spell out what you are good at in some detail.

At the top of your CV write a short personal summary which ends by saying something like: "...now returning to my career after an extended maternity leave."

If you are going back into similar work, make sure that you reacquaint yourself with what is happening in jobs like yours so that you can describe your abilities in line with their expectations.

Please take some time to read the CV writing information on this site, you should also read this section on returning to work which might help too.
