I know that these covering letters can be difficult to write, but too many people let themselves down by throwing away the opportunity that a well crafted letter presents.
Let me give you some tips and advice on how to get the best job application letter written, whether its a cover letter for a job application, a letter of introduction or a cover letter to a recruitment agency. All must be good and must spell out why you're the best job candidate, so your personal qualities, key strengths and work skills must all stand out.
When you are ready to apply for the job you really want, don't lose out because your covering letter wasn't good enough to get their attention. And that is a real shame when it can be so easy to get amazing cover letters without all the effort and struggle.
What Is Your Covering Letter For?
The first and most important purpose of your letter is to
get noticed and to make sure that the hiring manager spots you and your job application. The only thing to be said about going unnoticed is that it gets you precisely nowhere.
Therefore, your job application letter must be exceptional to stand above the competition: it must include relevant examples of key skills and the letter layout must be professional and readable. See some Cover Letter Examples
Of course, the letter you write will not win you the job, it simply
cannot get you the job; it can only create the interest that
gets you the interview! then its down to you. So the only thing that matters is that your covering letters are good enough to demand attention and create reaction!!
Write Compelling Covering Letters that Demand Attention
You
can master the art of writing attention-grabbing applications and covering letters because we are going to show you exactly what you need to do and quite truthfully if you find it difficult writing the compelling words that make the hiring manager want to interview you, help is at hand.
Dare You Ask for What YOU Want?
Asking for what you want can be tough no matter what it is, but when there is a job at stake it can feel even tougher.
What you should do is to gift-wrap your CV or resume by including a well-written letter on matching quality paper (black print on white paper is ideal), but make sure you keep your career change cover letter to one page only.
Read my cover letters insider tips for some great ideas on what you need to do and what it should ideally look like.
First you must read and re-read the advert so carefully that when you construct your cover letter it very clearly says:
“this candidate understands what we want”
Your letter must convey your interest, confidence and competence to the reader who may be ploughing through hundreds of similar applications and needs convincing.
If yours is the same as all the others, what’s going to make them select you?
Grab The Reader's Attention
First off, you must
Grab their attention so PLEASE say in your covering letters that you're interested in the job
(hardly anyone ever does!!) Then talk about what you know about the employer and not just yourself; illustrate your points clearly by using your skills analysis, to show exactly how your experience and skills fit their demand. Be very careful to comply with all of their instructions.

Apply In Writing?
I must also clear up a point my students always raise - when the advert says
"apply in writing" it means write to us, don't ring us.
It does not mean a HANDWRITTEN LETTER so only handwrite a cover letter when the advert says "apply in own handwriting"
I'm sure that's a relief if your handwriting is half as bad as mine!
Now, before you send everything off in the post, take one more look at your CV.
How good is it? Is it a 'plant-pot' or is it an up-beat, positive and interesting document? Is it clearly laid out in a way that looks attractive and easy to read?
Will it beat the competition or let the competition through?
Make sure your CV clearly identifies your value, worth and your level of expertise.
There is no single way to create a winning CV but follow these steps and you will learn the best and most effective ways that will work for you. Now you can get expert help with your CV or resume just to be absolutely sure.
You can master the art of writing great cover letters quite easily if you follow the layout guidelines I've given. Don't feel too constrained though - why not experiment with words and see what you like best.
