Could I be a Child Protection Officer?
by Nina Bott
(Worcestershire)
I have recently completed NVQ Level 3 in Childcare Learning and Development.
I have 2 years experience working in an independent day nursery working with babies and children from 4 months to 4 years, I was the appointed Child Protection Officer within that setting and led 1 CAF.
I have many years experience looking after children and also have 2 children of my own.
I have attended Raising Safeguarding Awareness and Building Safeguarding Awareness day courses. I am very interested in working as a Child Protection Officer, could you please tell me what qualifications I would need and if I sound like I might be a suitable candidate?
I am also just about to start some voluntary work with Homestart, I should be due to start supporting a family within the next month.
Unfortunately I am unable to drive, would this affect my chances?
Many Thanks
