Cool Jobs: What Is Cool & How Do You Get A Cool Job?

Our Jobs Help For Your Career Change

What are cool jobs? Everyone has a subjective view of this because what is cool to you may be boring to someone else. Whatever job you can think of, there will be someone who thinks its cool but that is usually in comparison to their own (uncool) job.

So when people were asked if they could describe jobs, that they thought of as cool, there were lots of very different descriptions but that didn’t mean they agreed with what other people thought of as cool jobs. Some people preferred intellectual jobs, others liked physical occupations such as firefighter, and yet many more thought becoming a celebrity to be the only cool job they would want. What do you think? Tell us about your COOL jobs...

Despite all the differences, some jobs just seem inherently cool; can you imagine becoming a test driver for Bentley Motor Cars? Or a Cowboy?

Here are some of the top jobs that people think are cool; do you think they are? I've given you some links to find out more wherever I can.

Children's book writer

Imagine strolling into your local bookstore, and seeing your children's classic lining the shelves. Children are reading, their imaginations sparkling. Your pride is bulging. And so is your bank balance. You're following in the footsteps of J.K.Rowling, Terry Pratchett, Roald Dahl, and many other famed authors.

But did you know you can write your children's book - in just TWO WEEKS, or LESS? How cool is that?

Mystery shopper jobs

Mystery shopping jobs can be great fun and most people have heard of others who enjoy the work because it seems a little bit cloak-and-dagger, but in fact it can be a serious way of earning extra money when it suits you.

It's seems unbelievable, but there are thousands of companies who would LOVE to pay you to shop at their stores, eat at their restaurants, go to their parlors, salons, amusement parks, and do all sorts of other FUN activities.Mystery shopper jobs

Business Development Specialist

If you've got some real business experience and you enjoy the thrill of showing others how to do things, you could easily use your knowledge to become a professional business consultant.

The Quantum Organization

Acting or Singing Jobs

Becoming an Actor or Singer sounds really cool - and it is if you make it big, but most actors have second jobs, and they often end up as waitresses, teachers and administrative assistants. Singers and musicians do better, but in both fields, the work is erratic. Entertainment jobs such as a singer, dancer, band member, VJ or DJ would be cool considering the amount of energy, excitement and pressure involved.

Firefighter:

There’s a lot of work out there in firefighting but the competition is fierce, so you’ll need mechanical aptitude, physical fitness, and a bit of firefighting or emergency responder education to win a paid position. Ace Your Firefighter Interview

Brew Master

It’s surely every guy’s dream and a reality for about 4,000 members of the Institute of Brewing & Distilling. To put it mildly, a lot of people like to drink beer. It's associated with good times, 21st birthdays and football games. Find Brewmaster Jobs.

Tourism and Hospitality Jobs:

The coolest thing about this type of job is the different people you get to meet whilst on the job. Imagine the amount of knowledge and experience you could gain from this job. If you are adventurous enough it can be easy to move from one job to another in a whole new environment. Cruise Ship Jobs would be a great way to travel the world whilst still on the job.

Event planner:

Event planners are responsible for finding convention and meeting sites, orchestrating enrollment and registration, possibly making transportation arrangements for attendees and negotiating prices for venues and hotels.

What makes this job cool is that, although you work hard ironing out the many wrinkles that big events entail, you get to visit various sites and network with people of every imaginable industry, which means you're not stuck at a desk all day.

Of course there is more to life than being cool, but when you're surrounded by four walls reading e-mails and pushing paper around all day, you can't help but wonder if there isn't a cooler job out there that will still put food on the table.

Plenty of people are going to work every morning and having a lot of fun while doing it. That's not to say they don't work hard; these jobs might be cool jobs but that doesn't make them easy.
