auto restoration painter and more!!!

by Rod Sanders

Me with granddaughter Anna Kate

My name is Rod Sanders. I am 55 years old and looking to change careers, or another position in a similar field.

I have worked as a spray painter since 1977 in the following fields: Architectural signage, Aircraft and Senior Aircraft painter, and Custom auto restoration Painter. All of these fields required varying degree's of Body work.

Not to sound conceited, after a few years in the painting industry, I began to have a sort of reputation for quality. Some companies would actually recruit me for my skills without as much as an application or resume. Having said that, I am truly not bragging, only trying to express my abilities.

Not all people know how physically demanding this profession can be, especially 32 years of it. The fact of the matter is that I am looking for a less physically stressful position in the field that I have been in for so long. However in the economy that we are in I have found that the Body Shop industry is down about two-thirds.

This has brought me to the conclusion that I would be a good fit with a manufacturing facility with a paint line to manage or supervise.

I hope someone will find a good working environment for a hard working guy ready to use his knowledge.
Thanks, Rod Sanders
