Choose Your Words To Enhance Your Career & Get The Best Jobs

Your words are the most powerful weapons in your career change tool kit. Quite simply they are are what will build your career or your business for you. Words are the building blocks of information that people are seeking. When it comes to creating your future through career change or starting a business, your words are what really make people sit up and take notice.

In your present job, they are what makes the difference between an average or a great Performance Appraisal which usually provide an opportunity to look back at past behaviour and so consider prior performance. But to be successful they should be more about reaching agreement on what should be done in the future, than just criticizing past performance.

You can now download the "Phrases for Performance Appraisals Guidebook" and use the exact phrases that professionals use to write their concise and powerful appraisals

When you set about applying for other jobs, they are what you need for really effective CV Writing. Of course, when you're applying for jobs you must also try to make sure you choose the best words for Writing A Cover Letter Many people find it difficult to get the words to say exactly what they need. Of course anybody can write letters, but the real skill is in writing a covering letter that 'forces' the reader to interview you.

Speaking In Public

How would you go on making a speech without choosing your words carefully? There are very, very few people who can get up at a moment's notice and give a good speech totally impromptu and on the spur of the moment. There are plenty of people who think they can and/or who will tell you they can, but the truth is most of them are deluding themselves and boring their audiences to tears.

There are also plenty of speakers who get up and present and make it look easy, as though they hadn't prepared anything beforehand. These are the real experts who, despite having years of speaking experience under their belts, if anything put more effort into preparation than people who speak for ten minutes once a year at the annual dinner dance. See public speaking for some tips on speaking in public.

Let me start you off with some really powerful choices of words for your CV or resume - click here: CV Action Words which are what create REAL IMPACT; try to use theses same words when you talk about yourself in an interview. Rather than the same boring stuff, your self describing statements will sound dramatic and interesting; add some also to your CV personal profiles for an even more powerful CV.

Choosing Your Words In Interviews

Interview questions and answers rely entirely on how you use your words and your interview presentation skills must include your choice of appropriate words as well as being able to speak confidently and convincingly.

Take the time to prepare properly, because the interview questions they ask will give you the best opportunity to demonstrate your talents and skills and position your answers so that you are seen as the right person.

You know how important it is to create the right first impression in an interview, so what you need is a good Self Introduction to get off to a great start. It is your key to interview success because you are starting from a baseline position where they have no experience of who you are or what you are like.

Yes, they should have read your resume and cover letter you sent in, but that only gave them enough for them to want to see you in person. Now you are going to meet the hiring manager in person, you have a one-off make or break opportunity to get them to see you as the only person they want to employ - and your words are crucial.

Describing Yourself

How else can you answer one of the difficult questions about how to Describe Your Personality other than by carefully choosing your words?

Your answer should always be related to the job, so leave out words like "sexy" or "daring" or even "loving". Remember, although the employer is asking personal questions about you, they are still all related to the need to answer the interview question: "what can you bring to the company?" even if they didn't actually put that question into words.

Whichever way you look at it, your words are crucial to your career success and for more examples of how to put together convincing descriptions go to key strengths examples for some great phrases to help you prepare.
