Many people have finished work only to find that they cannot make a living from their income. Many of them end up working full time for meager salaries and in awful conditions in order to support themselves. If you do not want this to happen to you, you should start planning for it as early as possible.
This time is supposed to be a one of relaxation, family enjoyment, and taking care of oneself. A retiree should never be in a situation where he or she is supposed to work long hours to make a living. However, many people who retire do not have other choice and have to work all day long in order to survive financially. Therefore, it is important for you to know the different possibilities in income. Consider the following advice, which is related to the Internet and its resources. They are very easy to use.
Your Retirement Income Can help You Do Four Things:
1. It is a good idea to start an online business, using the knowledge you have acquired during the years of work in your area, no matter the field you are in. You will always find someone who needs what you have to offer, but make sure you are going to work according to your rules and conditions because you are supposed to be comfortable and relaxed. It will be a great help for your continuing salary.
2. There are other ways to generate earnings online, such as acting as a consultant in you area of expertise. For instance, if you used to be a teacher, you can help students sort out doubts online, with no need to travel to work or let strangers into your home.
3. Writing about your past experiences for websites can also be beneficial. This is very good because you are free to wok as much as you desire, with no obligations. Another possibility is to create your own website to offer your products or write for others. These possibilities can add a good amount to you income and give you a more relaxed lifestyle.
4. The net is also a very useful tool for trade. Find out about the available platforms for trading in order to make a good income. A great variety of reading material to get an insight on this topic is available on the Internet, if you feel you do not know anything about this possibility.
Even if you did retire early, there are lots of good reasons to return to work after retirement, not least that the extra income would come in handy, but also the feeling of being able to contribute and be useful again, plus the intellectual stimulation that goes with working.
Perhaps you don't need much more money, but the skills and experience you have built up in your working years, could benefit an organisation or benefit individuals to help them grow into their own careers.
Going back to Work, perhaps in some consultative capacity could be a fulfilling and satisfying way to contribute again.
What Retirement?Well, retiring may be a good choice for you – especially if you can afford it – but not necessarily the right choice for all of us. Of course being retired doesn’t have to mean doing nothing at all, in fact with longer life-expectancy, that probably isn’t an option for many of us.
For most people considering retiring, the main concern is money. Some of you will have no worries, you’ve planned for it, and you’ve invested your savings and budgeted ahead. But even with the best savings rates, it won’t be like that for the majority, especially with what’s happening to pension funds every day.
However, far from thinking of putting your feet up, you might think about other ways to supplement your investments or pension. But first ask yourself what is your reason and motive for wanting to work, because this will affect whatever decision you make.
Perhaps it's about supplementing your personal pension income, or about companionship? Is it about the need for mental stimulation or to have a sense of purpose? Perhaps you’re concerned that without a job you lose a large part of your identity? You want to protect the value of your savings and investments?
The answer is probably a combination of these factors, so use my career change guidance throughout this site to establish your priorities and avoid drifting into something that won’t satisfy you. If you need to get out of the house and make new friends then don’t choose a solitary job working from home.
Of course some people know exactly what they are going to do; it’s all pre-planned or has been worked out with guidance similar to this site.
As an excellent example of what I mean, and in preparation for retiring together, this husband and wife team have done extensive research and experimentation on safe ways to make money on the Internet.
Using what they learned, they have created Retirement Jobs Online to share with other retirees (or soon to be) the valuable information that they have gained.
If you’re thinking of retiring early, why not ask your employer if they could continue to use your skill and knowledge as a consultant - you can do this either as self-employed or as an employee of your own small business.
Running a small business can be one of the most satisfying occupations, and there are thousands of success stories of those who took the plunge at 55-plus. These people have built businesses that provide involvement, fun and income plus creating something of value to pass on to the children or grandchildren.
Using Your Specialist KnowledgeIf you have a skill or specialist knowledge to offer, the drive to do something with it, the time to invest and the health to support your ambition, then you have the basis of a business that can bring real retirement benefits, allow you to make the most of your investment income, and above all continuing career satisfaction.
You probably haven’t given it much thought but you could build an online business based upon what you know. You’ve amassed a great deal of knowledge from your work experience, your hobbies, passions, or past-times. Think about the website you’re looking at now; this all comes from my specialist knowledge and a set of tools called Site Build It that removes any need for technical knowledge – you could do it too, and if you let me I’ll show you.
Needless to say I’m only recommending something that I know works; I had no web-site building skills yet I’ve been able to put this together in a very short space of time – you could do it too!
I’m going to give you a few ideas that show you exactly what is possible if you know your subject matter. And if you're really motivated you can build a solid business with interest and intellectual stimulation that provides information to others who can benefit from your knowledge, whilst creating extra income for you and your family. You never have to sell a product or service; you can build upon this foundation of information. It’s your choice, depending on your skills, inclination, and time availability.
But if you do like the idea of selling a service; perhaps using your knowledge as a Consultant, you could offer a service related to your particular niche. Since every service revolves around a theme you could build a client base, whether clients are local (e.g. business consulting, or organizing children's birthday parties) or global (e.g. assessing the value of antiquarian books or travel services). Or you could start a completely new service business -- what do you know or do, that is of value to others?
This is how you can start to build an ever-growing client base until you can say... "I'm sorry... I'm not taking new clients”. And with it additional income. Just like me, before getting too involved you'd probably want to see what other people like you and I have done, and perhaps get some good ideas for yourself take a look at these results – hundreds of them.
